Puppets Parade Along Newark’s Broad Street

The puppet parade kicked off the weeklong festivities of the Newark Arts Council’s seventh annual “Open Artists’ Studios and Available Space” tour. The parade along Broad Street from Banks street to Park Place included 10 large puppets and the Shabazz High school Marching band.

Thursday’s “Walk on the Wild Side” puppet/art parade – a colorful and exciting new program — featured 10 life-size puppets, Shabazz Marching Band and a number of children with homemade masks made out of recycled materials.
